This Year’s Theme
The Ghanaian Dream works together with companies and institutions that have the ability to successfully facilitate the diaspora transition or investment in the
Motherland, with the ultimate goal of strengthening the local private sector, to the benefit of every Ghanaian.
The theme of The Ghanaian Dream 2021 is “Strengthening the local economy through effective Diaspora Investments”.
TERRY AFRAM
Founder
The initiator of the conference is Terry Afram, a returnee entrepreneur born and raised in the Netherlands,but of Ghanaian heritage. He is the Managing Director of Bridge Partners, a consultancy firm which bridgesthe gap between the international- and local markets by acting as a local partner and providing marketentry and -growth solutions. The company also specializes in helping the Diaspora invest in the Motherland.
Terry started his career in Ghana as the Country Managing Director for Jumia Food Ghana, the largestonline food delivery service on the African continent. Terry was able to significantly grow Jumia Food Ghanainto a million-euro business and is passionate about seeing other ventures grow to achieve the same, to thebenefit of the local economy.
Before Terry moved to Ghana to lead Jumia Food, he worked as an investment banker in the Sub-SaharanAfrica M&A team at Goldman Sachs where he advised on Mergers and Acquisitions.
Terry has been organizing similar events for the past 6 years: in 2013 he founded the African Business Day,an annual event in the Netherlands which hosts speakers flown in from all over the African continent toeducate professionals and students about doing business on the continent. The initiative has enjoyedcooperation of renowned companies like McKinsey&Company, Shell, FMO, Ecobank and Rabobank. He alsoattracted former Dutch prime minister Jan-Peter Balkenende and Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb to joinhis board of advisors.
Terry also writes for the Volkskrant, the largest Dutch newspaper, and highlights African stories andperspectives.

Our decision to invite His Excellency Dr. Bawumia as MainKeynote speaker to the largest Ghana-focused Diaspora Investmentconference follows our deep admiration for his fruitful patriotic effortstowards a better and economically stronger Ghana.
During his successful ongoing tenure as Vice President of The Republic ofGhana, he has portrayed a clear commitment to strengthening the localeconomy, which is evidenced by strong and effective activities, among whichhis innovative digitization agenda. He has particularly excelled in his effortsto strengthen the local currency which currently is among the bestperforming currencies on the continent.
Dr Bawuma is a role model to many, the epitome of humble yet strongleadership, and we are honored to invite to him to grace the occasion as theMain Keynote Speaker at the grand edition of The Ghanaian Dream –Diaspora Investment Forum 2021 in Accra.
SPEAKERS
This year the Ghanaian Dream will be celebrating itsgrand edition in line with the Beyond The Returnmission and will be hosting a strong set of dignitariesactive in- or associated to the Ghanaian private sector.
The dignitaries will be revealed on a rolling basis.
